Paper Moon Books was born out of a need to read and remember the stories of our childhood - the stories we heard at the feet of our grandparents – under trees, by stove tops and doorways, in courtyards and fields…
stories that filled our dreams.

Inspired by literary expressions from around the world, our books are specially curated works of lesser-known classical and oral narratives, brought alive with distinctive content and imagery for the modern reader.

From the magical musings of Megha, the elephant cloud (in a re-telling of Kalidasa’s Meghadutam), to the travelling adventures of the sprightly Backpacker Mouse, our books will transport children and adults alike to that familiar warm embrace of an age-old story that feels like you’ve always known it, even if you’ve never heard it before.
