About Paper Moon Books
Paper Moon Books is an independent publishing house that creates books for the reading pleasure of children and adults alike. With a focus on re-telling much-loved (and often lesser-known) oral and literary expressions from around the world, Paper Moon Books uses distinctive content and imagery to bring stories from our childhoods to life, for our children, and a little bit for ourselves too.
Who We Are
The idea of Paper Moon Books was born one summer afternoon when two friends began sharing stories they heard long ago, but not found since, that lingered in their memories like forgotten fragrances longed to be experienced again.
Searching for more of these gems, they took trains across southern India, watched clouds descend on the Himalayas, counted elephants in the sky, and ran through fields of sugarcane (in their imaginations, of course – it would be far too exhausting to do this in reality), and began stringing them together into a garland of unique narratives, some told and some yet untold.
And so, Paper Moon Books was born.
